ORCHESTRE DES JEUNES DE LA MÉDITERRANÉE ET DE PROVENCE-ALPES-CÔTE D'AZUR
The Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée et de Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur brings together students from the conservatoires of the PACA Region and the Mediterranean Basin. This training orchestra enables participants to deepen their orchestral experience and gain professional experience that complements and works in partnership with the music schools. The young musicians, who are submitted for audition by their teachers, spend their school holidays undergoing training sessions under the direction of Philippe Bender with the support of some fifteen soloists from orchestras in the region. Each season ends with a series of public concerts at which well-known soloists are regularly invited to perform. For this autumn 2007 season, the orchestra is made up of 44 students from the conservatoires of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
