ORCHESTRE DES JEUNES
DE LA MÉDITERRANÉE ET DE PROVENCE-ALPES-CÔTE D’AZUR
After a summer season in residence at the Académie Internationale
in Nice, the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée et de Provence-Alpes-Côte
d'Azur is continuing to develop its activities with an autumn season held
between
29 October and 5 November at Sainte-Tulle near Manosque.
For this new season the training orchestra brings together 44 students from conservatoires
in the Paca region to train them in orchestral practice under the direction of
Philippe Bender. They will also be taught by 13 teachers and soloists from orchestras
in the region.
On this occasion the Chœur Régional Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azurjoins
the Orchestre
des Jeunes to perform Mozart’s Requiem. Laurent Korcia
has again been invited to appear as soloist in Mendelssohn’s 2nd Violin
Concerto and the programme studied is completed by Ravel’s Ma mere l'Oye.
These 3 works will be played in concert separately on the 3rd and 4th November
in Nice as part of the "C'est pas Classique" (It’s Not Classical)
festival and in a single concert on 5th November at the Saint-Victor Music Festival
in Marseille.
