Around these creations of music of today, a piece of the 20th century repertory by Manuel de Falla and some songs of the Mediterranean Basin orchestrated by Caroline Marçot will remind us that every music finds its roots in the forgotten regions of man’s memory.

COMPOSERS
Caroline Marçot
Born in 1974, initially pianist and chambrist, Caroline Marçot has obtained awards for analysis, Renaissance counterpoint, 20th century writing, harmony and esthetics in Paris CNSMD. At the same time, she turned toward singing in 1995 in the Maîtrise of Radio France, and is still currently with the Cris de Paris, a chamber choir directed by Geoffroy Jordain in which she began her work as composer in 1999. She works today on commissions from Laurence Equilbey for the Jeune Chœur de Paris and on a cycle of madrigals for Rachid Safir and the Jeunes Solistes.
Jean-Louis Agobet
Born in 1968, former scholarship student at the Villa Medici, Prix Italia in 1995, Jean-Louis Agobet, resident composer with the Orchestre national de Montpellier from 1998 to 2000, is in residence near the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg - orchestre national - since October 2001. For about ten years he has regularly been requested by the main musical institutions in France and throughout the world.
Manuel de Falla (1876-1946)
Born in Andalusia, he is, with Albeniz and Granados, one of the greatest Spanish composers of the 20th century - and probably the most gifted. In Paris, he became friends with Dukas, Debussy and Ravel under the influence of whom his work approaches impressionism but his art remains embedded in the purest traditions of the music of his country.
